Peripheral: The Visual Language of the Liminal
Role: Art Director & Typographer
Tools: Gemini 3.1, Topaz Bloom, Adobe Illustrator
Deliverables: Conceptual Editorial Layouts
Project Overview: A conceptual editorial series exploring the distortion of memory and the visual language of liminal spaces. The project is designed to create a clinical tension between ethereal, organic dreamscapes and strict, synthetic structure.
The Strategy & Execution: When integrating generative AI assets into high-end editorial layouts, the artwork cannot be allowed to dictate the final design. The primary challenge was capturing the fluid, unpredictable nature of memory without sacrificing commercial readability. To achieve this, I generated the raw environmental assets using Gemini 3.1, refined them with Topaz Bloom, and then utilized Adobe Illustrator to impose a rigorous modernist grid over the final compositions. By anchoring the liminal imagery with strict typographic hierarchies, the underlying architecture successfully tames the AI, resulting in a deliberate, high-fidelity spread.
